Normality in [the] crisis. English version below

¿Qué es la normalidad? ¿Que es una crisis?

Las crisis no las pagan los ricos. El neoliberalismo no se va a acabar por esta (u otra) “crisis”, este aparente “resfriado porcino” no es mortal, es muy contagioso, pero no mortal.

No veo señas de que este en Jaque algún cimiento fundamental del neoliberalismo… o del hétero-patriarcado que es aún mas antiguo.

El neoliberalismo y la globalización no fue instaurado por elección democrática… o por una fuerte revolución social. Hubo distintas fórmulas, todas propias de patriarcas. En el caso de América (Latinoamérica) se instauró con gobiernos dictatoriales financiados por EE.UU., y no fue simple ni se recibió con alegría. Fue a costa de asesinatos, torturas y desapariciones de personas.

¿Y como estamos ahora? Podríamos tomar distintos países y tendríamos una situación similar. En el caso de Chile, con la llegada de la “democracia” no ha habido presidentes no neoliberales (socialistas..Si). Ni siquiera se ha terminado con la constitución de la dictadura. Y para mantener el sistema, se requiere usar “LA” herramienta de manipulación por excelencia: el miedo. Y debe ser un miedo tal que las personas elijan tener menos derechos y más “seguridad”, con un sistema que elige a los “delincuentes” según sus conveniencias. Así, distintos grupos de luchas se vuelven delincuentes (lesbianas o travestís, indígenas, pobladores). Chile, con el “retorno” a la democracia, se ha hecho propaganda de un país estable, respetuoso de los derechos humanos. Y veamos: La ONU acaba de informar que en Chile no se respetan los derechos de las mujeres. Hace poco, en el informe sobre Latinoamérica del nuevo gobierno de USA se indica que hay problemas de derechos con los mapuche (indígenas) y que el sistema carcelario esta colapsando.

Por otra parte, el movimiento social sigue reprimido por leyes de la dictadura. Los estudiantes ya no luchan por una universidad gratuita, sino por el “derecho” a endeudarse dignamente para pagar estudios, de los cuales el mas barato cuesta mensualmente mas que un sueldo mínimo.

Y lo más claro de que el sistema no esta en crisis es que esto, lejos de ir en disminución, se expande. Países “desarrollados” que habían logrado mantener su sistema educativo, de salud y de previsión “a salvo”, están en proceso de “modernización para el libre mercado”.

El imperio no está en decadencia. Su cultura es decadente, eso es otro tema. Pero la dominación internacional es tal, que estamos hablando ingles en un país de habla germánica; en un mundo donde el mayor porcentaje de la población habla chino y la mayoría de los países son de habla hispana. Una frase de Astrid Hadad, cantante mexicana, podría resumir esto: “Visite Estados Unidos…. Antes que Estados Unidos lo visite a usted”.

Desde otro punto de vista, si pensamos normalidad en escala de individuos ¿esta realmente en jaque que lo normal corresponde a la “mayoría” dominante?. Esto es ser blanco occidental, no mígrante, heterosexual, de entre 25 y 40 años, hombre, sin ningún tipo de discapacidad (aunque no importa el coeficiente intelectual). Eso si se pueden reemplazar algunas cosas… con la condición de que solo sirva para hacer el trabajo sucio y profundizar la opresión. Condolezza Raitz es mujer y es negra. Dudo que existan grupos feministas o afro-descendientes que invoquen su labor como un progreso o un triunfo en la lucha.

Si bien me considero lesbo-feminista, el matrimonio homosexual esta absolutamente reñido con la lucha anti-sistema. Mientras los movimientos sociales progresistas buscan la libertad de las personas sin la normatividad del estado y las instituciones, sin que esto signifique una perdida de los derechos, cuando en Chile, hace un par de años al fin se tiene una ley que permite el divorcio… los gays parecen ser los únicos que quieren casarse. Y no tengo dudas que con o sin matrimonio la homo/lesbo/trans fobia no cambia. La normalidad no esta en jaque, mas bien hay grupos que quieren ser parte de ella, no cambiarla.

Me gusta explicar esto con la demolición de un edificio. Si lo derribas desde adentro, el edificio te cae encima. Si nos juntamos entre varios a derribarlo…. Tirando de una cuerda, pero amarrada en un solo cimiento, también se cae encima. Si diversificamos las cuerdas a los distintos cimientos, si las cuerdas no anulan sus fuerzas entre si y si somos un “numero critico” de personas tirando de ellas, el edificio colapsa sobre si mismo.

Esta diversificación de luchas nos cuesta porque nos es mas fácil trabajar con nuestros pares idénticos y porque por mucha lucha por la diversidad que tengamos, las herramientas de dialogo están coartadas por las reglas del mismo sistema que combatimos. Muchas veces se ve una discusión como una pelea. Fácil seria si fuera un movimiento social monoteísta, con dogmas y todo. Pero eso es propio de religiones, del fascismo y del conservadurismo.

No creo que sea imposible lograr nuestras metas y utopias. He aprendido muchas cosas sobre la “her-story” en el feminismo y de cómo un matriarcado igual de jerárquico que un patriarcado no sirve como cambio. He aprendido sobre libre distribución y respeto de la autoría en el hacktivismo. Sin embargo veo mas seguido de lo que quisiera sexismo en las redes alternativas a la vez que veo a organizaciones feministas, radicales o no, publicando sus pensamientos en servidores coartados por el imperialismo virtual (blogger, facebook, por nombrar un par).

Como punto de reflexión o discusión de cambios en la normatividad, me gustaría poner sobre la mesa la post-pornografia. Puede ser un camino de liberación de cuerpos normados pero también es una vía muy útil de obtener imágenes sexuales sin censura, sin límites de edad y gratuitas para quienes buscan excitarse y les importa un bledo la política. ¿No nos hacemos cómplices del trato de cuerpos como objetos en pos de una “nueva política”?.

What is normal? What is a crisis?

The crisis is not paid by the rich. Neoliberalism is not going to stop for this (or other) “crisis”, this apparent “swine flu” is not fatal, it is highly contagious but not deadly.
I do not see signs of this in check some of the essential foundation of neoliberalism … or hetero-patriarchy that is even older.

Neoliberalism and globalization was not established by democratic election … or a strong social revolution. In the case of America (Latin America) was established with dictatorial governments funded by U.S., and it was not simple or received with joy. It was at the expense of murder, torture and disappearances.

And how are we now? We may take different countries and have a similar situation. In the case of Chile, with the arrival of “democracy” there has been no neoliberal presidents (socialistas.. yes). Has not even finished with the establishment of the dictatorship. And to maintain the system is required to use “the” tool of manipulation par excellence: fear. And it must be a fear that people may choose to have fewer rights and more “security” with a system that chooses the “criminals” according to their convenience. Thus, different groups of struggles become criminals (trans or lesbians, indigenous people, poor…). Chile, with the “return” to democracy, propaganda has become a stable, respectful of human rights. And let’s see: The UN has just informed that Chile does not respect women’s rights. Recently, the report on Latin America’s new U.S. government indicated that there are problems with rights of the Mapuche (indigenous) and that the prison system is collapsing.
Moreover, the social movement remains suppressed by the dictatorship of law. Students no longer fighting for a free university, but for the “right” to borrow to pay for the education, which is cheaper than a monthly minimum wage.

And as clear that the system not in crisis is that, far from going into decline, is expanding. “Developed” countries that had managed to maintain their educational system, health and welfare “safe”, are in the process of upgrading to the free economy”
The rule is not in decline. Their culture is decadent, that’s another topic. But the international dominance is such that we speak English in a German speaking country in a world where the highest percentage of the population speaks Chinese, and most countries are Spanish speaking. A sentence of Astrid Hadad, Mexican singer could summarize this: “Visit the United States …. Before the United States visit you”

From another perspective, if we scaled normal individuals is this really a threat than usual for “most” dominant “. This is a white, Western non-migrants, heterosexual, between 25 and 40 years old, man, without any kind of disability (but no matter the IQ). So if some things can be replaced … Condoleezza Raitz is a female and black person buy I doubt that there are feminist groups and Afro-descendants who claim his work as an achievement or a triumph in the struggle.

While I consider myself lesbo-feminist, but gay marriage is completely at odds with the anti-system. While the progressive social movements seeking the freedom of individuals without the State’s regulations and institutions, without this means a loss of rights, when in Chile, a couple of years to finally have a law that allows a divorce … gays seem to be the only ones who want to marry. And I have no doubt that with or without marriage homo / lesbo / trans phobia does not change. Normality is not in check, but there are groups that want to be part of it, not change it.

I like to explain this with the demolition of a building. If you destroy from within, the building will fall over. If we get together to break down between various…. Pulling a rope, but tied into a single foundation, it falls over. If you diversify the strings to the various foundations, if the string does not cancel out its forces if and when we are a “critical mass” of people pulling them, the building collapses on itself.

This diversification of struggle because it costs us is easier to work with our peers and the same because a lot of struggle for diversity we have, the tools of dialogue are bound by the rules of combat system. Is often a debate as a fight. Would be easy if it were a social movement monotheistic, with dogmas and all. But that is typical of religions, fascism and conservatism.

I do not think it impossible to achieve our goals and utopias. I have learned many things about “her-story” in feminism, and how a matriarchy as a hierarchical patriarchy is not an exchange. I’ve learned about sharing and respect for self-authorship in hacktivism. But I followed most of what I like sexism in alternative networks to the time I see a feminist, radical or not, posting their thoughts on servers impeded by imperialism virtual (blogger, facebook, to name a couple).

As a point of reflection or discussion of changes to the legislation, I would put on the table post-pornography. May be a way of release of regulated bodies, but also a very useful way of obtaining sexual images without censorship, without limits of age and free for those seeking aroused and they care a damn politics. Do not make us complicit in the treatment of bodies as objects to achieve a “new politics”?.
